All you have to do is combine half of the normal amount of your favorite juice with plain water or sparkling water, cutting as many as 85 calories out of a single glass to allow you to lose 5 or more lbs per year.

Weight Loss Secret #2 - Another way to burn calories is to use a cordless phone when you are talking, and walk around rather than sitting or standing while you are on the phone. You can burn calories by doing laundry, watering plants or setting the table while you are talking on the phone. Multi talking is great for your health.

Weight Loss Secret #3 - Chewing gum, according to studies, is actually capable of helping you increase your metabolic rate by as much as 20%. Chew a sugar free variety and you could burn off an extra 10lbs every single year.

Weight Loss Secret #4 - Pay cash for the treats that you buy. Every time someone offers you a goody and you take it, put aside $1.00. Give this money to your children. When you are literally paying out for sweets, it suddenly becomes an incentive to say no thank you.

Weight Loss Secret #5 - Pay more attention to the wrapper. If you look at a candy bar, you may see that it contains 220 calories at quick glance. Unfortunately, you may find out upon looking more closely that a single candy bar package may contain two or more servings, doubling those calories quite effectively. The same is true for bottled drinks, cracker bags and bags of chips or nuts.

Weight Loss Secret #6 - Sip some green tea before you go on a walk. The caffeine in the tea will free fatty acids so that you can burn fat much more easily. The polyphenols, which are antioxidant compounds, in the green tea are capable of working alongside the caffeine to help increase your calorie burn.

Weight Loss Secret #7 - Ditch the diet shakes, because the calories that you cut are really only temporary and may actually be causing you to eat more later on. Most of these diet shakes only provide you with 150-250 calories, not enough for a meal, and they end up costing you dearly in the long run.

Weight Loss Secret #8 - Pack your lunch rather than dining out, because when you dine out more than five times weekly it can help you eat more than if you dine out far less frequently, by as many as 300 calories daily!
