Cool post with the most practical advise.

A less practical but more interesting alternative, is to plan ahead with the people you know will be attending said holiday events. Most people would not be opposed to opting for an all around healthier even food and drink wise. You could set up a rule that all foods and drink brought must be generally healthy. Not meaning they cant be tasty, some nice fruit mixes can always be delicious, and can be a fun "theme" for the party. A healthy holiday.

I agree with you that holidays don’t have to be synonymous with weight gain, even though people most likely gain a lot these days and then make a resolution for the next year. In my opinion the resolutions regarding this topic should start right away because this is not a matter of whether to chose colors and shapes. This is a matter of health which people should care more when it comes to those things.

Nice post by the way. :)

This was really good advice. I've tried to fill up on "good" food before hand but I just end up indulging. And I usually end up drinking the hot chocolate, the egg nog and the apple cider and just fill up on water when I get home. I'm gonna try the list this season though. It sounds really practical. Thanks again!
