Simple and Serious Resistance Band Workouts

Most people know what resistance bands are, but do not realize how effective these exercise tools can actually be at building strength and helping to work off weight. How can a series of rubber tubes or bands actually do anything, right? It is time to lose this attitude because resistance bands and tubes are actually extremely effective and efficient and they can have a powerful effect on your weight loss and fitness effort if you are willing to give them a chance. Not only are these resistance bands easy to learn how to use, but they are also easy to bring with you, meaning that you can take your workout anywhere you like to go and are not restricted by a single location such as a gym or your home.

Here is a look at some of the exercises that you can employ as core resistance band exercises.

>> Squats - Squats are one of the best exercises that you can perform in order to benefit your entire body, which is why they should serve as the foundation for your strengthening routine when you are trying to attack your core. Put both feet on the middle of the band, grab the handles with your palms facing out and squat down. When you stand up, make sure that your elbows are bent and your arms tucked. Repeat this as often as you can, it is a great strengthener!

>> Wood Chops - Wood chops are also capable of providing an excellent workout, and they are ideal when performed using a resistance band. Step on the band using your left foot, then grab the band with both hands. Squat, twisting toward your left foot, then rise up, pulling the band with your hands until your arms are extended above you on the right of your body.

>> Dead Lifts - Also known as good mornings, this exercise works on your lower back in a safe manner. Step on the band and hold the hands in a hand, bending at the waist. Straighten your legs and perform the dead lifts in order to benefit your back. You may also bend at the knees if you want to perform a more traditional dead lift. Both of these exercises are excellent for the lower back and other core muscles.

>> Other Exercises - Any exercise that you perform when using resistance bands will be beneficial for you, regardless of whether you are performing a bicep curl, a lat pull or a triceps extension, stabilizing your core muscles is essential in order for you to perform each of the exercises properly. You should focus on the stabilization of your core in order for you to maximize the benefits of the resistance bands that you use.

Resistance bands are easy to learn to use and inexpensive, making them an excellent tool in your workout arsenal.

I think that resistance bands are great for beginners to progress to a pull-up. Just put it over a pull-up bar and place your feet in the loop. It will make it much easier.
