Quick Tips for Healthy Weight Loss pt 3

greenbeansHere is a handful of quick tips that will help you achieve healthy, natural and permanent weight loss.

1 - There is an old adage when it comes to diet and weight loss that says no pain, no gain, but this really should not apply when it comes to your own personal regimen for exercise. You should always be listening to your body, especially when you are brand new to exercising because it takes time for your body to become conditioned and if you push too hard you are going to get hurt. If you do find yourself experiencing pain during your workout, sit out the class or take a break and cool down. Do not continue simply because you think you have to - You don't. Sometimes stopping is the only way to prevent a real injury from occurring.

2 - Make sure that you are eating smart when you go to the deli. Even if you buy a healthy sandwich, if you put Mayo on it, then you are accidently sneaking more fat into your diet than you probably realized. You could take a perfectly healthy lunch and accidently fatten it up into something terrible without even realizing it by adding mayo. Instead, choose a light version of the may or an alternative diet mayo, or choose another condiment that is more diet friendly such as pickle relish, salsa, horseradish, ketchup or mustard instead.

3 - If you are counting portions, avoid bagels because they are a serious trap waiting to happen. Bakery bagels are much larger than they should be based on portion, to the point where one bagel can easily make up two portions or more when it comes to your grain servings. Bring a friend with you next time you go to the bakery so that you can split your bagel with a friend to cut your portion down to a more diet friendly size.

4 - There are some cooking methods that are healthier than others, including for example, broiling, braising, grilling, roasting and baking. Use cooking sprays in place of butter and oil during the preparation of your food. Strain your cooked beef, washing it down with hot water to reduce the amount of fat that you consume. Make sure that you are constantly checking your portion sizes when cooking.

5 - Chicken is definitely a healthy choice when it comes to eating, but only if you know that dark meat contains nearly twice as much fat as the white meat does. Chicken skin is also quite fattening, so you need to choose skinless varieties. You can remove the skin before you cook the chicken yourself or you can buy a skinless variety at the store. Make sure that you avoid dark meat and chicken skin to get the most out of this healthy source of protein.

Yes I agree that being healthy has a lot to do with the food you eat and the way the food is cooked. It is safer to eat raw veggies and lots of fruits minus the dressing and the dips.Just plain and natural wold be the best way.
