Here is a handful of quick tips that will help you achieve healthy, natural and permanent weight loss.
1 - Researchers have conducted a study talking about how eating fewer meals may relate to weight loss, and what they found is that people that do not get a healthy breakfast in the morning have a much lower metabolic rate than the people that do, by as much as 4 % to 5 %. This is why it is so vitally important for you to eat a good breakfast every morning. Find foods that you can stick with because bailing on your breakfast could possible be sabotaging your weight loss efforts.
2 - Many people that overeat on a habitual basis end up consuming their food quickly and taking much larger bites than they have to. If this is the case for you, then it only makes sense why these people have so much trouble with digestive issues such as heart burn. When you eat more slowly instead, not only will you improve upon your digestion, but by eating mindfully you will be able to appreciate the food that you are eating. This will also make it easier for you to practice portion control when you are eating, helping you stop eating when you are full rather than when your plate is empty.
3 - You should try to serve appetizers that are high in fiber before you eat your actual meal. This is going to help to prevent overeating and it is also going to help to pave the way for control over the portions that you need. An excellent healthy appetizer is a salad, as long as you take care to avoid the high fat dressings. Choose reduced fat or non fat salad dressing varieties instead. A vegetable tray featuring a no fat dip is another great example, as is a fruit tray with low fat cottage cheese.
4 - It is time for you to realize that you do not need to clean your plate, learning how to practice good portion control instead. You should not eat everything on your plate simply because you think that you are supposed to do so, especially when it comes to dining out of the home in a restaurant. Put half of the meal that you order directly into a carry out box or carton before you even begin to eat your meal. Even if you do not want to have the second half of your portion for lunch the next day, you can always give it away or save it for another day.
5 - Every now and again there is nothing wrong with splurging. There is nothing wrong with having a little bit of an indulging moment, but what you should be doing is meeting yourself halfway. Try a half portion of your favorite dessert or one scoop of ice cream rather than the normal two.

I love the fact that this article points out that we should slow down and appreciate our food.
I agree that eating breakfast is a very important diet tip. In our busy lives it is a meal which can be easily skip when there is a rush to get out of the house. By getting up just a little bit earlier and planning ahead a bowl of oatmeal can go a long way to speeding up your metabolism.
