Like I say, nothing worth having happens over night. Nowadays a lot of people just wanna pop a pill or do a crash diet. I agree with DR when he said that successful weight loss comes with a change of lifestyle.

great article. I find it helpful to focus on goals I know that I can acheive. For example, instead of trying to lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks, I'll focus on eating 7 or more servings of fruit and vegetables or not snacking after dinner. By making my goals totally under my control, I focus on changing my unhealthy habits to healthier ones and the weightloss becomes a byproduct of healthy living.

When will we ever learn?

Successful weight loss requires a complete change in lifestyle.

Quick fix diets may or may not work in the short term, but the sure as heck don't work in the long term.

Come this January, Amazon et al will sell thousands of celebrity endorsed diet & workout books/DVDs.

And by Feb/March, most of those books will be gathering dust on a bookshelf and their owners will be busy re-gaining the 10 pounds they lost on their New Years Resolution Diet
