			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am officially ending my <a href="http://www.weightladder.com/weight-tracking-last-attempt/">last attempt</a> 1.5 years after my last weigh in.  I know I know.  My bad.  Moving On.</p>
<p>How bad was it?  I put all the weight back on and a little bit more.  New starting weight is 394.  Yikes.  Back on the wagon I go.</p>

I am starting this journey by reading and following the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1439109982?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=weightladder-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1439109982">The Program: The Brain-Smart Approach to the Healthiest You: The Life-Changing 12-Week Method</a><img style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=weightladder-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1439109982" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" />.</p>
<p>At this point (I have read the book through week 3), I am starting by exercising daily, starting a food journal, and starting an exercise journal.</p>
<p>My Program goal (12 weeks) is to lose 30+ pounds after the first week (this is way more than she suggests, but I have way more to lose than most.  (If the past holds true then watching my food and alcohol and exercising will result in rapid first week weight loss.  So the 30 pounds in 11 weeks that follow translates into a modest less 3 pounds a week (2.72 to be exact).  In other words I need to run ~10,000 weekly calorie deficit.  If I can run a 1,500 calorie daily deficit I will more than reach my goal.  My starting resting daily calorie burn is ~ 11*394=4,334 (11 times your weight is a rule of thumb to calculate your resting calorie burn.)  I have plenty of room.</p>
<p>My first weeks goals are to exercise daily keeping a journal and to keep a food journal.  Both will be done via this site.</p>

I had hoped for an initial rapid  weight loss and in deed I lost an incredible <a href="http://www.weightladder.com/2008/04/25/22lbs-in-10-days-1st-weigh-in-on-new-diet/" target="_blank">22lbs in the first 10 days</a>.  After a minor disappointment last week (only three pounds), I am back to what I expect to be able to lose on a weekly basis from here on out: 5lbs.</p>

<p>I achieved 50% of my 10 pound goal.  The doctor thinks 5 lbs a week is a very good weight loss rate for me and as such I will fall in line...</p>
<p>My goal for every week from here to the end of my journey is 5 lbs.  I have a stretch goal of exceeding 5 lbs, but I fully expect to be able to maintain the 5lb a week pace...  With the help of the <a href="http://www.weightladder.com/2008/04/17/methionine-inositol-and-choline-mic-injection/" target="_blank">MIC Injection</a> and the <a href="http://www.weightladder.com/2008/04/20/phentermine/" target="_blank">Phentermine</a>, my hunger is in check for perhaps the first time in my life.  I really do enjoy excising via competitive sports (golf, volleyball, basketball) and I also enjoy swimming...  With summer coming up I might be able to exceed the 5lb weekly mark as my opportunity for swimming will pick up with the warmer weather...</p>
