"You: On a Diet" appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show and then immediately exploded, primarily because it offers a fun and light hearted approach to losing weight and getting healthy. The "You: On a Diet" diet uses metaphors, comics, images and other fun icons as a way to explain how the complex human body really works. This diet, believe it or not, really works, simply because it takes a fun and easy approach to the concept of losing weight, rather than overwhelming you with too much information and not enough action.
What makes "You: On a Diet" different is that it offers basic exercise and guidance for healthy eating, but it also offers all of the scientific, nitty gritty jargon that you need to know in a way that is simple and filled with humor. This allows you to actually understand the importance behind exercising daily and eating right. This plan believes that making small changes is all it takes to eventually reach your diet and exercise goals. One way that this plan is different from many others is that it encourages eating the same types of meals every day so that you can lose weight by lessening your choices and streamlining your nutrition plan.
The "You: On a Diet" diet plan believes that you need to start living, rather than simply trying to lose weight. You can reprogram your body in such a way that your overall lifestyle and the food choices that you make become enjoyable. You can also reprogram yourself in such a way that you can enjoy these energizing routines rather than view them as a stressful burden on your life. The "You: On a Diet" diet plan involves fourteen days worth of meals allowing you to eat smart rather than having to work hard at it. Once the two week plan has been completely mastered, you will find that you suddenly have an all new lease on life because you will have developed patterns for eating and behavior that will allow you to lose weight and be healthy on a long term basis.
The "You: On a Diet" diet plan is based on a 1,700 calorie diet, but it also shows you how to configure your own individual calorie needs as well. You may need to add or subtract calories as needed. This particular diet plan stresses that you must absolutely eat in order for you to lose weight. If you starve yourself, your metabolism will slow down and your body will hold on to all of your excess fat rather than allowing you to lose it.
If you follow the "You: On a Diet" diet, you can expect to lose 2 inches off your waist in only two weeks' time. It is advisable for you not to follow a number weight goal or to rely too heavily on the scale. You should set a range goal to account for daily fluctuations in your weight, and measure yourself in other ways as well.

I actually bought this book and it’s been hanging out on my bookshelf ever since. Now that Spring is around the corner and I’m feeling the need to get serious about this last 25 pounds I have to lose, I am thinking the 2 inches in two weeks sounds pretty good! Nice review!
