Assessing Your Wellness

mirrorPart of losing weight and getting healthy is to assess your own personal well being. You may be committed to living a healthy lifestyle, hitting the gym every single day, keeping yourself hydrated and leading a balanced and nutritional lifestyle, but if you're not losing any weight it may be because you are not assessing your overall level of wellness, but rather are simply expecting these things to automatically make you healthy. Weight loss can take time, and there are numerous other things that are happening within your body that you are going to need to address. Tracking your progress in these four areas will help improve your overall wellness to better jump start your weight loss effort.

Energy Level -
On a scale of between 1 and 5, how is your energy level feeling today? There are many different factors that are capable of affecting your energy level including how much you have slept, how stressed that you are feeling, whether you are exercising too little or too much and also the quality of your diet. If your energy level is constantly seeming to be in a slump, then you need to speak with your family physician to find out what can be done to improve your energy all throughout the day.

Stress Level - On a scale of between 1 and 5, how is your stress level feeling today? Are you feeling like you might bite somebody's head off today, or like everything is simply going to roll off your back? Stress can affect more than just the quality of your life, as it can also impact the quality of your health, hindering your weight loss effort, making you want to eat more and even contributing to high blood pressure. Learning how to deal with stress in a healthy way is vitally important if you want to get your weight loss effort going in the right direction.

Sleep Quality - On a scale of between 1 and 5, how well do you feel that you slept last night? Are you feeling well rested now that you have woken up this morning, or did you toss and turn all throughout the night and now you are feeling terrible as a result? Just like with stress, poor sleep is capable of leading to a number of other problems relating to your health, including a suppressed immune system and weight gain.

Self Esteem - On a scale of between 1 and 5, how good are you feeling about yourself today? Do you feel confident as well as self assured or are you feeling like there is nothing good about you? Your self esteem is going to go hand in hand with the concept of a healthy lifestyle. You need to learn how to boost your self esteem in order to boost your weight loss capabilities. If you want to get well once and for all, you need to have a self esteem to match.
