An Exercise Plan Everyone Can Enjoy

Can exercise really be fun? The answer is yes – if you go about it the right way. There are many different motivational books about exercise and the main component is usually that group exercise is the most effective. If you have been thinking about getting fit, why not help other people join you on your journey? Here are some great exercise plans that everyone can enjoy.

1. Neighborhood Block Walks –

This is an easy plan that is perfect for beginners and keeps your walks interesting. Try to get some of your neighbors interested in a nightly block walk. Not only is there safety in numbers, but you’ll also get the benefits of interacting with others and it’s much easier to stick with a plan when you’ve got other people right along side you. On nights when you can’t walk, try to find another community activity that you can do to keep motivated.

You can gradually make the walks longer, and make them more difficult as everyone gets used to the activity. This is also a great way to get kids involved in getting fit and keep an eye on them at the same time.

2. Get a group membership at the gym.

Find a group of friends that are interested in getting fit with you and then see if your local gym won’t offer a group discount. That way, you can all exercise together and typically, you can save quite a bit off of your monthly fee using this technique. The gym will be happy for the extra business and you’ll be able to have more than enough room for everyone to get together.

Try scheduling your group exercise plan so that everyone can find the time to join in. It may not always be possible to get the entire group together, but try to stick to having at least two people exercising at the same time to make it easier.

3. Shopping Challenges.

This is a fun one that many people can enjoy together. Get together with some close friends and go shopping at your local mall. But, no one gets to buy anything until they have completed a certain amount of trips around the entire mall. You’ll be getting in your exercise, but it will still be a lot of fun. You can also set up a system so that the person who wins gets a special little gift from the people that don’t. That’s a great motivator right there.

This is a great challenge during the winter months when it is hard to exercise outside and going to the gym may be the last thing on your mind. This can also be easily adapted to any other activity as well. Give it a try next weekend and see how much fun you can have.

The key to making exercise fun is to combine it with something that you enjoy doing. Whether it’s biking, horse back riding or BMX riding, find an activity that you enjoy and bring along a few friends.

Very good article. There is so much we can all do to keep our self active, to feel better and to maintain a healthy life style. Motivation is very important, getting the help and support of other friends is key to maintaining momentum. Food choices is crucial, food is energy.

Thank you for the great post. I think more people will exercise if they realize it can be fun. Take the whole family and go for a hike to find treasures, go to the beach and run in the sand, swim in the water, biking with a support group, dance lessons with friends. Exercise and eat right. Both can be done with fun and ease in mind if you just get creative. Families that exercise together stay fit and happy together.

awesome article. The truth is that there are so many simple, free, and easy things we can do to get our bodies in motion! Why not walk to our appointments if the weather permits, why not park on the furthest spot in the parking lot to get a few more strides in?

I just got home from Africa and had to do a lot of walking there. When I got home everyone I knew said I lost weight, I’m not overweight but its nice to know that walking every day for 37 days can make a noticeable difference!

Good thoughts. I just recently started working out with a friend. Even though I am a personal trainer, it is nice to have a workout buddy. We had a blast and have had some great workouts.
