Motivation — aka what pushed me over the edge… I have been saying for a long time that I need to lose a bunch of weight… I fact, I even went as far as losing some 40lbs about 3 years ago only to gain it back.
So why now? There are a myriad of reasons, but they all existed before.
I don’t know why. All I know is that it is time. I even started this blog to prove it…
I started my diet on Monday, July 9, 2007. I am not sure of the starting weight at this time, but I estimate it at 370lbs (edit: actual 380lbs)… Before you go thinking that I am “VERY fat” you should know that I am 6′10″. So I guess I would like to go with “very fat” instead. Tomorrow morning I go to the gym and will know the official weight then.
To start my diet I am going on an Atkins/south beach 2 week indoctrination period. Also I intend to walk an average of a mile a day and lift weights at the gym… I might even play some basketball.

The Atkins/south beach 2 week indoctrination period is a good way to start. It has worked for me “many times” but I it is hard to stay motivated.
Starting happens a lot… Staying is the hard part… I am hoping this blog remains a constant reminder. Cause I am either going to have to stop posting, start lying, or fess up. None of which I want to do.
